Outdoor Recess Expectations - Cold Weather Reminder
As we approach colder weather, please ensure your child is prepared to play outside in all conditions. Outdoor recess will continue unless the wind chill drops below -10 degrees.
To help keep everyone safe, warm and organized:
- All outdoor clothing (jackets, gloves, hats, snow pants) should be clearly labeled with your child's name.
- Please send a pair of indoor shoes to be kept at school so your child can change out of wet or snowy boots.
- A physician's note is required if your child is to be exempted from outdoor recess or activities.
- Ice Cleats: Absolutely no ice cleats are allowed inside the school building or at recess. Students must be able to remove their ice cleats on their own before entering.
- Umbrellas: For safety and storage reasons, students are not permitted to bring umbrellas to school.

Student and Staff Safety is Our Top Priority
To ensure that our schools remain safe environments for both students and staff , we are implementing additional measures to monitor who is in our buildings at all times.
- All adult visitors must present and scan a driver's license upon entry when visiting a school during school hours.
- Please note the DoD ID are not compatible with our system and cannot be used for entry.
- If you walk your students into the building in the morning, please exit through the front door-not the side doors. This help keeps the side doors locked and secure throughout the day.
